We have been discussing our likes and dislikes about sports. We saw a film clip on the game Jai-alai yesterday. We also reviewed comparisons and added the even ones. We are learning to say what we think about things using the phrase:
Pensar(e>ie) = to think
pienso pensamos
piensas pensáis
piensa piensan
so..........
"Pienso que......"
I think that....
Yo pienso que jai-alai es rápido y peligroso. (dangerous)
In class we practiced stem changing verbs, especially jugar.(p. 204 En Español )
EVEN comparisons....

Oprah es tan famosa como Ellen.
Tarea: read pp. 212-213 Beisbol article and do the questions on p. 213 in complete sentences.
Also comparisons worksheet.
6th beginning
Today: Bullfighting unit wrap up before the quiz next week.(Monday boys /Tuesday girls)..also begin to learn Cultivo Una Rosa Blanca poem.
Notes are on the blog...and you should still have the hand out.

Today we reviewed the vocabulary for 3.2 and reviewed making uneven comparisons. Students will hand in 21 comparison sentences on Wednesday. Examples were on the board. More here:

**Back track and study our adjectives from earlier this year, if you're not strong in this vocabulary.
You may use your own favorite sports or favorite celebrities to compare. See yesterday's blog, or the notes handout from Monday.

Happy cinco de mayo yesterday!
Some classes brought in treats today and I believe they thought it was a rather nice day. Today we had a review (and new) hand out covering all of the verbs, patterns, regular, irregular and the new 3.2 stem-changing "shoe verbs."
We also had a beginning lesson on how to make comparisons in Spanish.

Hola!!
We went over the more difficult concepts in class today and took a little time for extra independent/pair study. The test was postponed for one day.
Español 1---
Examen 3.1 --Part One is tomorrow! Listening comprehension and reading are on this section. The vocabulary is key in this part of the exam, as you know.
Part 2 will follow on the non-field trip day.
Spanish 6 beginning---
¡Olé! Why is bullfighting so popular (to some Spanish-speaking people?)

Have your note packet. Review your terms for bullfighting. We have another day of film and a practice then we will have a discussion/debate and a quiz.

---We've been discussing our quiz and test schedule in class....and here it is:
3.1 April 29 and 30
3.2 May 30, 31
Final exam June 6&7
You should be well on your way. The 3.1 test is on Monday! The revised test guide was handed out today, we decided to revise the writing portion. You will have new format and examples today in class. We also began the practice exam in class.
tarea: Study again!!! We've been reminded to study all week long. Keep up the good work!!
